The Upper Peninsula of Michigan

at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge
We spent eight days at the beginning of July exploring the eastern part of the Upper Peninsula, centering around Big Manistique Lake. Along the way we did a lot of fishing (didn't catch any), a lot of sky-gazing, and we went to Pictured Rocks National Seashore and the Log Slide, on Lake Superior; Tahquamenon Falls; Seney National Wildlife Refuge; and the city of Manistique. On our last day we went to Sleeping Bear Dunes just outside Traverse City. It was a beautiful vacation. The blog is here: Back to Lake Manistique, and you can click here for the full Flickr album of photos. I would definitely go back.
